WEEKEND COURSE OPPORTUNITIES

In addition to more traditional school options, there are weekend programs in the following states that may be options for au pairs. If you have any opportunities to add to this list, please let us know. Please note: the information provided below must be verified by the institution.

Alliant International University
No lodging available.
Tuition for Class A only is $295. Tuition for the Class A and B combo is $500.
Students can earn up to 45 hours for one weekend class. Students can earn up to 90 hours for the 2-weekend combo class.

Illinois

Chicago

National Louis University
No lodging available, but website refers to local hotels.
The average cost of $345 is based on up to 4 credits, combination courses are available for up to $585.
3 meals are included in the cost of each session.

Maryland

Towson

Towson University
Classes include: American food culture or Mindfulness Yoga and Meditation
Lodging and meals are not included in the cost of $350 plus $25 application fee and are based on receiving 3 credits. Lodging is available for an additional $99 per night. 16 hours of homework are required before beginning the session. Students must attend all 18 hours of class time. Download flyer to learn more.

Lodging and meals are included in the average cost of $285. Each weekend plus homework provides an au pair with 3 credits.

Lodging and meals are not included in the average cost of $250 and it’s based on receiving up to 3 credits.

Borough of Manhattan Community College
For residents of New York City, only.
The average cost of $349 is based on 3.5 CEUs OR 4.5 CEUs – please refer to course selection for more details.

In addition, Learning Across America courses are offered by The Borough of Manhattan Community College are made up of both on-site learning and a related tour. The Borough of Manhattan Community College offers Learning Across America courses at the following locations: Connecticut, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Washington DC. Please note that not all courses are offered at each of the locations listed above.)

There is a choice of 1 or 2 weekends. Total hours are 72 hours / 6 CDUs in two weekends. Two weekends estimated cost: $550 (includes materials), one-weekend cost estimate: $375 (includes materials).
